The service began with a heartfelt prayer and intercession, setting a reverent tone for the morning. This was seamlessly followed by an uplifting session of praise and deep worship led by “Voice,” (church choir) creating an atmosphere filled with prayer and thanksgiving. The first and second Bible readings came next.
Pastor Anne led the confession of the week, starting with a prayer for the progress of House on the Rock, The Gateway Johannesburg, South Africa. Her prayer lasted for nearly 10 minutes before she delivered the weekly confession.
Several individuals shared amazing testimonies, highlighting the Lord’s goodness in their lives and reminding us of God’s divine work in House on the Rock, The Gateway South Africa. A special number of praise and worship by “Voice” followed, after which McSamuel Idara took over the service to introduce our esteemed guest speaker, Rev’d Dr. Emeka Okereke.
Rev’d Dr. Okereke’s message focused on “The Importance of Prayer,” emphasizing the essential connection between believers and their Creator through prayer. He profoundly stated, “What defines your true nature as a Christian is what you do when you leave the environment of the church,” urging us to live authentically and consistently both within and outside the church.
He shared three pivotal steps for a robust prayer life:
-Cultivate the habit of prayer.
-Dedicate a specific time to praying.
-Have a designated place for prayer.
In conclusion, Rev’d Dr. Okereke spoke words of prophecy over the church and individuals, leaving the congregation blessed and uplifted. the congregation was treated to soft food and refreshments, fostering a sense of community and fellowship.
